Beuke Shackles Hoxie
|
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.
Paul Beuke of the Baton Rouge Grapplers proved the point at Ballpark of Baton Rouge, holding the Hoxie Scots to 7 hits in a complete game shutout victory.
"Beuke made us look real bad today," Scots manager said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Beuke had 6 strikeouts and gave up no walks as the Grapplers took the 3-0 win.
This season, Beuke has worked 74.2 innings with 72 strikeouts en route to a 2-5 record and a 4.22 ERA.
