Miami Punchless in 8-0 Loss to Glaciers
|
The Miami Cyclones were almost helpless in their 8-0 loss to the Denver Glaciers and hurler Su-shun Nie. Nie kept the Cyclones confused all game, spinning a 4-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Nie," Miami manager Chris Stephan said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 29-year-old left-hander had no walks and 8 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Nie said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
This season to date, Nie has a record of 3 wins and 3 losses with a 1.93 ERA, has appeared in 7 games and struck out 36 in 51.1 innings.
