Shuai Shuts Out Elephants
|
The Plano Elephants were almost helpless in their 5-0 loss to the Toledo Red Dragons and hurler Feng Shuai. Shuai kept the Elephants confused all game, spinning a 4-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Shuai," Plano manager said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 19-year-old left-hander had 1 walk and 4 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Shuai said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
This year in 12 starts, Shuai has recorded 5 wins and absorbed 5 losses. He has pitched 84.2 innings, allowed 63 hits, struck out 90 and has a 1.59 ERA.
