In a low-scoring game between Las Vegas and Alaska, pitcher R.J. Mendenhall was excellent. The Las Vegas right-hander helped his team knock off the Kodiaks, 1-0. Gerald Blackman, now 1-3, was credited with the win in 2.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. The save went to Jason Mouland, number 6 for him.

The Aces got a big at-bat from shortstop Ian Paszek. For the game, Paszek went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Las Vegas a 1-0 lead.

"R.J. went out and did what we needed," said Las Vegas manager Justin Coroian.

The loss drops the Kodiaks to 14-18.
