Cincinnati Defeated By Spectres, 5-4
|
The Cincinnati Twins and Philadelphia Spectres provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Philadelphia Spectres faced a tough opponent in Cincinnati pitcher Ryan Surette, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Sony Field at Philadelphia by a final score of 5-4. Surette went 7 innings and allowed 5 runs. Philadelphia is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 11th win in 32 games.
Philadelphia first baseman Danny Ornelas contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a splitter to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 31st hit of the season and put the Spectres ahead, 5-3.
"We'll build on this win," said Ornelas.
