Angels Stymie Denver, Take 5-1 Win
The San Antonio Angels downed the Denver Glaciers, 5-1, at Tesoro Stadium. Stellar pitching by John Rochford had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who led the WC in wins with 18 in 2073, handcuffed his opponent all game. The winning pitcher was Rochford, now 4-0. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. With the loss, Denver is 21-11.

Al Anzaldua had a big 2-run home run for the Angels in the bottom of the fourth inning. With San Antonio leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a curveball from Su-shun Nie, who is tied for 3rd in the WC in innings pitched with 46.1, and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Angels ahead, 4-1.

"John really held it together well," said San Antonio manager Brandon Coroian.
