Minneapolis Makes It 9 Straight with 5-2 Win
The Minneapolis Vikings got a stellar performance from pitcher Alex Mijangos, who handcuffed the San Antonio offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Minneapolis Grounds. Reliever Antonio Melgar picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Bobby Messer took the loss. Phil Payne wrapped it up, recording his 9th save.

Lien-ying Tsai drove in one run for Minneapolis. The 28-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Bobby Messer. It was his 5th RBI of the season.

"This team's hitting on all cylinders," said Vikings manager Ace Cooan.

San Antonio is 9-22 after the loss.
