Juggernauts Handle Twins, Nab 3-1 Win
|
The bats were silent much of the day at Molson Park. But 25-year old right fielder Tillmam Velado produced just enough offense to carry the Juggernauts past the Cincinnati Twins, 3-1. Velado was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Yoandri Sabates, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Morgan California locked down his 8th save.
Tony Fonseca helped out the Toronto cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 3 with a walk.
"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Fonseca told the Toronto Daily News.
With the win, Toronto elevates its record to 14-16.
