Kings Use Late Score to Top Rangers, 6-5
|
The Buffalo Rangers got a sterling performance from pitcher D.J. Harkins, but the Baltimore Kings still prevailed, 6-5. Harkins threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball. Baltimore reliever Buck South was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Tom Thexton. The win puts Baltimore at 17-12.
Zero Skouzas was 2-3 with 2 singles and was hit 2 times for Baltimore. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Tom Thexton. It was his 7th RBI of the season.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Baltimore manager Brad Carpenter.
