Skidding Angels Lose 6th Straight
|
Though he had a terrific game, Dave Yerges could not prevent his team, the San Antonio Angels, from absorbing a loss. Chicago won the game, 7-4. Yerges went 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Carlos Torres picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Wiley Moore suffered the loss. The Phantoms, now 24-6, have had a terrific start to the season.
Hector Abarca drove in one run for Chicago. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Wiley Moore. It was his 9th RBI of the season.
"Nice to keep our winning streak intact," said Abarca.
