Toronto Edges Philadelphia, 1-0, Ronquillo Ks 9
|
In a tension-filled contest between the Toronto Juggernauts and the Philadelphia Spectres, pitcher Danny Ronquillo was superb. The Toronto left-hander spearheaded his team's 1-0 win. The Spectres fall to 9-19 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2079 season.
Ronquillo, who leaned on his fastball, allowed no runs on just 1 hit over 8 innings for the Juggernauts. For the most part, Philadelphia hitters were simply overmatched.
"Danny made his pitches," said Toronto manager Marc Arnold.
