Kansas City Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
Hurler Juzo Matsumoto gave the Kansas City Athletics a solid start. The native of Yamagata helped his team defeat the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 3-0, at Ballpark of Missouri. The win puts Kansas City at 12-17.

Kansas City got a clutch hit from Shigeru Muto. The left fielder launched a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Muto said in his postgame press conference.
