Big Day for Daniels: Swats 5 Hits
Speaking with reporters after a dominating hitting performance, Cody Daniels said his club's tilt with the Hillsboro Ensigns "felt almost like batting practice." The 20-year-old left fielder went a remarkable 5-for-7 at the plate.

"I saw the ball well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted," he recalled later.

However, his sensational day wasn't enough for the Baton Rouge Grapplers, who were topped by the Ensigns, 6-5.

"It's a good lesson for him, I guess," Grapplers manager said. "Sometimes Cody is going to lose. But I would rather him go 5-for-7 and lose than go 0-for-7 and lose."

Cody Daniels singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, singled in the 12th and walked in the 14th.
