Portland beat Seattle on the strength of starting pitcher Cursive DeMarco's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 8-2. With the win, Portland climbs to 16-14.

Tadashi Shimizu had a big 2-run double for the Dragons in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Portland trailing 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a screwball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher J.P. McNealy and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dragons ahead, 2-1.

"I thought Cursive threw the ball well across the board," said Portland manager Greg Carpenter.
