Brian Lynch made an impact in the 7-2 Alaska win over Boston. Lynch went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Bill Mauck earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. His record is now 3-1. Alaska, now 11-17, is off to a slow start.
Alaska won the game in part because of Bitgaram Mangjeol. The shortstop ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Kodiaks ahead, 6-2. For the game, Mangjeol had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
