Philadelphia Upended, 6-2, by Baltimore
|
Baltimore took on Philadelphia in front of a lively crowd.
Behind the hitting of Chris Kill, the Baltimore Kings stopped the Philadelphia Spectres, 6-2. Kill was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times for the Kings. Aaron Kopta, who is tied for 9th in the EC with a 1.10 WHIP, was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts.
Baltimore used a well-timed hit by Zero Skouzas to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Kings ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I thought we played some darn good baseball," said Kings manager Brad Carpenter.
The Kings sit in third place in the Eastern Conference Willis Briceno Division with a record of 54-54.
