Washington Picks Up Another L
|
The Buffalo Rangers trumped the Washington Senators, 7-3, at Bison Stadium. Buffalo first baseman Rafael Vasco was terrific. He was 4-4 with 4 singles. He scored 2 times. Allan Tinter, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 7-5. Washington, at 39-69, has lost 6 straight.
Vance Kitchen drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances for Buffalo. The 11-year veteran had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Josh Breaux. It was his 25th RBI of the season.
Afterward, Washington manager Josh Cooan said: "Every team has a bad week."
