Cyclones Earn Win with Late Rally
|
The Miami Cyclones walked off with a big win.
The Miami Cyclones earned a close win over the Brooklyn Browns, thanks in part to Anton Rochambeau. The Miami right-hander, who finished 3rd in the EC in strikeouts with 246 in 2074, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Reliever Nees van Santen picked up the win. His record improves to 4-1. Wade Belk, who is a three-time All-Star, took the loss.
Gurmu Jemadari was the walk-off hero for Miami. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cyclones center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"That's baseball," said Brooklyn manager Jason Cormier. "You're not always going to be hitting on all cylinders."
The loss drops the Browns to 9-17.
