Twins Lose By a Run at St. Louis
The St. Louis Gaedels withstood a fine game by Cincinnati third baseman Riley Cooke at Veeck Park, to upend the Twins, 5-4. Cooke was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. St. Louis reliever Manny Medina picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Beau Eschmann was tagged with the loss. With the win, St. Louis is 14-13.

Evelio Vinent's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth inning was a big one for St. Louis. Coming to bat with two out, runners on 1st and 3rd and St. Louis trailing 4-3, the third baseman reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Cincinnati manager Ryan Stoops. "But we decided not to take it."
