Kings Score Late to Upend Twins, 5-2
|
The Baltimore Kings converted a terrific effort from starter John Kenison into a win over the Cincinnati Twins at AT&T Park. The Kings won the game by a final score of 5-2. Ocean Mendoza earned the save for Baltimore, his 3rd. The Twins drop to 11-15 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2078 season.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Marcos Galarraga came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Cincinnati pitcher Bobby Messer, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Baltimore on top, 3-2.
"I'm happy we won," said Kenison. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
