Kodiaks Get Past San Diego, 2-1

Alaska right-hander Eliecer Cervantes helped his team edge San Diego by the score of 2-1. Cervantes kept the opposing lineup in check. Alaska pitcher Jose Zavala got the win. He's now 1-1. Miguel Soto was tagged with the loss. Ruben Guzman finished the game for Alaska and earned his 1st save.
Joel Roberts drove in one run for Alaska. The 24-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Miguel Soto. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
Roberts said his team "played with determination."
The win gives Alaska a record of 12-16.
