The Chicago Phantoms beat the San Francisco Friars, 8-6, in 14 innings. Chicago second baseman Kenny Leek, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 4 times and drove in 2. Chicago, now 16-10, has played well in the early going.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 14th, until Leek delivered big-time for Chicago, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Kiyohiro Kaneshiro. The game-changing hit put the Phantoms on top, 8-6.
