Dragons Absorb 6-3 Loss at Seaward Stadium
Behind a fine performance from Jose Pedroza, the San Diego Destroyers knocked off the Portland Dragons, 6-3. Pedroza went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Destroyers. Masaru Uno picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-2. He struck out 5 in 7 innings. The win has San Diego at 16-10.

Jose Gonzales, who finished 4th in the WC in batting average with .318 last year, chipped in a 2-run home run for San Diego in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.

San Diego manager Steve Alstadt was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
