4-0 Win Sends Cincinnati to 18-9
|
Cincinnati starter Craig Kruppenbacher put the Washington offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his fastball in leading the Twins to a 4-0 win. Kruppenbacher, now 4-1, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The Twins, now 18-9, have played well so far.
Jose Tineo, who is tied for 10th in the EC in RBI with 18, aided the Cincinnati cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the second. For the game, the right fielder drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Washington manager Josh Cooan.
