Though he had a terrific game, Eddie Kelly could not prevent his team, the Los Angeles Stars, from absorbing a loss. Tucson won the game, 10-6. Kelly went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. With the win, Tucson is 9-16.

In the top of the second inning, the Toros grabbed the lead when Dave McLaughlin rapped a two-out single. Tucson was trailing 2-1, when McLaughlin hit a 2-run single off Victor Marquez to put his team in front, 3-2.

McLaughlin told the Tucson Times: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
