Zamora Shuts Out Twins, 5-0
|
The Cincinnati Twins struggled at the plate against Senators hurler Alberto Zamora, who shackled them on 6 hits while hurling a complete-game 5-0 shutout.
"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Twins skipper Ryan Stoops in postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."
Zamora finished the game with 6 strikeouts and no walks in an excellent mound performance.
"He pitched real well," Washington manager Josh Cooan said. "Alberto made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."
So far this year, Zamora has 3 wins and 3 losses and a 3.43 ERA.
