The San Francisco Friars beat the San Antonio Angels, 6-2, at Staples Field. Amdre Ceclio was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. The 2078 Rookie of the Year Award winner was a menace to San Antonio all day. San Francisco reliever Marco Flores picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Ron Trevathan took the loss. With their 16th win of the season, the Friars have high hopes for earning their 3rd League Championship trophy.

The Friars got a big boost from right fielder Miguel Gutierrez who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Angels hurler Ron Trevathan. It was his 9th walk of the season and put San Francisco on top, 1-0.

Gutierrez attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
