Markosiants Tames Aces
With pitcher Lyalya Markosiants leading the charge, the San Francisco Friars defeated the Las Vegas Aces, 4-1, at Western Coliseum. Markosiants, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2077, threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Mike Pechtel got credit for the save for San Francisco. It was his 6th of the year. With the loss, Las Vegas falls to 12-12.

It was a masterful performance from the popular Markosiants, who notched 12 strikeouts in 7.1 innings while allowing 4 hits. Markosiants, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2077, goes to 3-1 on the year with 33 strikeouts.

"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Markosiants told the San Francisco Observer.
