Harfangs Use Late Score to Top Avispas, 4-3
|
The Montreal Harfangs picked up a win at Mount Royal Park, knocking off the Santiago Avispas, 4-3. On the mound for Montreal was right-hander Antonio Avellaneda. He played a key role in the triumph. The winner in relief was Travis Morris. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. With the win, Montreal elevates its record to 11-11.
The decisive blow was delivered by Junpei Fujiwara in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off 28-year old right-handed pitcher Jeremy Allen to win the game for Montreal. The home crowd went nuts.
"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Fujiwara.
