Wolves Need Extra Frames to Get Past Angels
The Vancouver Wolves and San Antonio Angels put on quite a show.

San Antonio got a terrific game from catcher Willie Penaloza. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Vancouver, 7-6. Penaloza was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Bill Lohry notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Rob Griffin got credit for the save for Vancouver. It was his 1st of the year.

Vancouver used the clutch hitting of Prazeres Verdades to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Wolves the lead, 7-5. For the game, Verdades had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"We had a chance to win," said San Antonio manager Brandon Coroian, "but we didn't get it done."

San Antonio falls to 2-1.
