The Portland (E) Lobster used the hitting of catcher Willie Penaloza to subdue the Buffalo Rangers, 5-4, in 11 innings. For the game, Penaloza was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jose Zavala, who finished 4th in the WC in saves with 36 in 2076, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. The victory makes Portland (E) 10-13.

Penaloza contributed in the top of the fourth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Portland (E) get the win.
