Senators Deal Twins 4-2 Defeat
|
Washington picked up a win at Cincinnati Grounds, bumping off the Cincinnati Twins, 4-2. Pitcher Bobby Jaramillo was a major reason the Senators emerged victorious. Jaramillo went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 3-2. The Twins, at 7-15, have stumbled out of the gate.
The Senators got a big at-bat from first baseman Emilio Oregon. For the game, Oregon went 1-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Washington a 2-0 lead.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Washington manager Josh Cooan. "Our pregame was pretty good."
