Dragons Snatch Late-Game, 6-5 Win
|
The Portland Dragons welcomed the Seattle Arrows to an night game at Power Ballpark.
The Portland Dragons beat the Seattle Arrows by a score of 6-5. Portland first baseman Alex Guilzar deserved the lion's share of the credit. Guilzar was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Dragons. Tyler Walsh was credited with the save for Portland, his 2nd of the season.
Guilzar had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a full count cutter from John Goeman, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Dragons a 6-5 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Guilzar.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Guilzar told the Portland Today.
The Dragons are off to a tough start, getting just their 8th win in 23 games.
