Spectres Pull Out Late Win, 2-1
|
The Philadelphia Spectres banked on Jeong Lee and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Baltimore hitters in check. The final score was 2-1, Spectres. The winner was Philadelphia reliever Divino Aljeroz, now 2-0. The loser was Marc Diamond. The loss puts Baltimore at 11-11.
Philadelphia used a timely hit from Earl Carpenter to get the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Spectres ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We hit some balls hard and didn't get rewarded for it," said Baltimore manager Brad Carpenter.
