Kings Tear Continues with 2-0 Triumph
The Baltimore Kings got a magnificent effort from pitcher Adrian Portuondo, who kept New York hitters in check en route to a 2-0 Kings win at AT&T Park. In 6.1 innings, Portuondo surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Ocean Mendoza recorded the save, his 8th.

Jorge Ojeda had a big run-scoring double for the Kings in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Baltimore leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Pavel Orta, who finished 4th in the EC in wins with 18 in 2077, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Kings ahead, 2-0.

"The old adage is true," said Ojeda. "Good pitching stops good hitting."

Baltimore sits at 14-7 in the early going.
