Trigg, Athletics Beat Wolves, 7-1
|
The Kansas City Athletics stopped the Vancouver Wolves, 7-1, behind an impressive performance from D.J. Trigg. The 2078 Hitter of the Year Award winner made life miserable for Vancouver pitching. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The Athletics, now 13-7, have been on a roll in the early going.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Trigg hit a run-scoring single off Danny Rangel. It propelled the Athletics into the lead, 2-1.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Trigg.
