Branom goes 3-for-4 in Brooklyn Win
|
The 6-3 Brooklyn win over Santiago was due largely to Peter Branom. The Browns third baseman was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The win was credited to 36-year old right-handed pitcher Victor Balaguer in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Oeke Endal took the loss. Jimmy Hsia earned the save for Brooklyn, his 2nd.
One big at-bat came with the bases empty in the bottom of the eighth inning. Allen Blagburn, who is tied for 6th in the EC in runs scored with 13, hit a triple off Santiago pitcher Oeke Endal. The Browns went on to win the game.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Blagburn.
The loss puts Santiago at 10-8.
