Friars Need Extra Frames to Get Past Phantoms
San Francisco turned a fine outing from starter Bill Zamora into a victory over the Chicago Phantoms at Foster Field. The final score was 5-2 in 10 innings. With the win, San Francisco is 9-10.

San Francisco won the game in part because of Bryce Gekas. The center fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Friars ahead, 5-2. For the game, Gekas had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Zamora.
