Minneapolis pitcher Alex Mijangos had a large part in his team subduing the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 6-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The loss has the Thunderbirds at 8-9.

The Vikings got a big at-bat from shortstop Chris Goudie. For the game, Goudie was 1-4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Minneapolis a 2-0 lead.

Mijangos called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
