Cyclones Sneak By Arrows, 6-5
|
The Miami Cyclones clipped the Seattle Arrows, 6-5, in 11 innings at Power Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Miami pitcher and New Orleans, Louisiana, native Anton Rochambeau. The win went to Ricardo Riveron in relief, making him now 1-0. Steve Grantham took the loss for Seattle. Sergej van Anrooij wrapped it up, recording his 2nd save.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Gurmu Jemadari? The 23-year old center fielder Jemadari stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put Miami up, 6-5. For the game, he was 3 for 6, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"It's good to win," Jemadari told the Miami Bulletin. "I like to have fun doing it."
The win puts Miami at 8-9.
