The Los Angeles Stars picked up a win at Stars Ballpark, dropping the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 6-4. Cursive DeMarco was the difference-maker. Miguel Torrez picked up the save for Los Angeles, his 8th of the year. The win has Los Angeles at 12-6.
Had Lyndon Lance not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Lance hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Stars.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Lance told the Los Angeles Gazette.
