Destroyers Reel Off Another Win
The San Diego Destroyers dealt the Alaska Kodiaks a 6-5 loss at Tundradome. Don Zufelt was the star on offense. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win was credited to Si-dao Ci in relief. His record improves to 2-0. John Rochford took the loss. Nelson Capristo earned the save for San Diego, his 1st.

San Diego won the game in part because of Alex Botello. The center fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Destroyers ahead, 3-0. For the game, Botello had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"You just play the game as right as you can and see where you end up," said Destroyers manager Steve Alstadt.

The Kodiaks, now 4-13, continue their poor start.
