Losing Streak Continues for Greens with 4-1 Loss to Browns
|
The losses keep piling up for the Boston Greens.
The Brooklyn Browns got a marvelous performance from pitcher Luis Basurto. The right-hander kept the Boston offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-1 Brooklyn victory at Arrington Park. The winning pitcher was Basurto, now 2-0. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Allen Blagburn? The three-time All-Star Blagburn stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put Brooklyn up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
Boston manager Matt Glazer, after yet another defeat, said: "We need to recalibrate."
The losing streak has reached 8 games for the Greens. Manager Matt Glazer was visibly upset after the game, hurling a string of profanities en route to the clubhouse.
