Phantoms Win Streak Reaches 6

The Chicago Phantoms defeated the Vancouver Wolves, 5-3, in Western Conference action at Foster Field. Greg Wozniak pulled his weight. The 16-year veteran went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Jarrod Beckman. His record now stands at 3-0. The right-hander went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits for the Phantoms. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Phantoms hope to make a postseason run.
With Chicago leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Wozniak hit a fastball from Juan Pinon for a bases-clearing double. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Phantoms ahead, 5-0.
"We've been playing some good baseball," Wozniak told the Chicago Daily News. "We're aggressive and focused on what we're going to do on the field and getting it done."
