Senators Deal Kings 5-2 Loss
|
The Washington Senators defeated the Baltimore Kings in 11 innings, 5-2, in part because of third baseman Emilio Oregon. Oregon went 3 for 6 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Senators. Keung King, who led the WC in saves with 42 in 2073, was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Nick Vetter. The loss puts Baltimore at 8-8.
Oregon had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 2-2 curveball from Kent Laing, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Senators a 5-2 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Oregon.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Washington manager Josh Cooan.
