New York Defeated By Twins, 4-0
|
Cincinnati Twins starter Beau Eschmann pitched a strong game against the New York Titans at Cincinnati Grounds, leading the Twins to victory, 4-0. The winning pitcher was Eschmann, now 1-0. He tossed 5 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. The Twins have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 5th win in 16 games.
Jose Tineo had a big 3-run home run for the Twins in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Cincinnati leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Nick Tamulevich, who finished 3rd in the EC in wins with 18 last year, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Twins on top, 4-0.
"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Cincinnati manager Ryan Stoops.
