Wolves Score Late to Nip Angels, 8-7
|
The Vancouver Wolves beat the San Antonio Angels, 8-7, in part because of third baseman Reutilio Coca. He went 3-5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Vancouver reliever Danny Laird was the winner. His record is now 1-2. Hector Moreno took the loss. The Wolves have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 5th win in 16 games.
The Wolves got a clutch hit from second baseman Sergio Basua. In the bottom of the 14th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Wolves.
Basua told reporters after the game: "All's well that ends well."
