San Diego Rallies for 6-4 Win
|
The San Diego Destroyers weathered an outstanding game by Portland center fielder Ray Garcia to topple the Dragons, 6-4. Garcia belted 2 home runs. Julio Olivo finished to wrap up his 5th save. The win moves San Diego to a record of 10-6.
San Diego used the timely hitting of Jose Gonzales to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Destroyers on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
San Diego manager Steve Alstadt called it "a darn good win."
