Laffita Holds Anaheim Hitless
The Rochester Reds were just hoping for a solid outing from Leonel Laffita. Instead, they got something special.

The 23-year-old hurler tossed a no-hitter against the Anaheim Rage, helping the Reds take the 4-0 win.

"I felt good throughout the game," he said after his spectacular outing for the Reds. "As I was going into the ninth inning, I wasn't nervous. I knew I had a chance to do something special."

Laffita's repertoire has a splitter, curveball, and fastball, and he used it all to full advantage, keeping the Anaheim hitters off balance all game long. The Rochester hurler fanned 4 and walked 2 in his history-making performance.

"His splitter looked about the size of a watermelon seed and it hissed at you as it passed," Anaheim manager joked after the game.

This season Laffita has compiled a 7-5 mark with a 2.61 ERA in 15 starts.
