Angels Pick Up 4-2 Win Over Vancouver
|
The San Antonio Angels picked up a win at Fox-Chong Park, downing the Vancouver Wolves, 4-2. On the mound for San Antonio was right-hander Ron Trevathan, who played a pivotal role in the win. Trevathan yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-1. David Klontz recorded the save, his 5th.
San Antonio used a clutch at-bat from Al Anzaldua to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Angels ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Vancouver manager Matt Libid said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
Vancouver, at 2-13, is off to a dreadful start in 2079.
