Phantoms Snatch Late-Game, 3-2 Win
|
The Chicago Phantoms had to overcome a good performance from Las Vegas pitcher Billy Zaffuto to claim a 3-2 win at Western Coliseum. Zaffuto went 7 innings and allowed no runs. Chicago reliever Greg Roof picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ricardo Riveron absorbed the loss. The win puts Chicago at 8-7.
Chicago used the timely hitting of Hotel Jesus Jr. to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Phantoms on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We found a way to get it done," Jesus Jr. said.
