Martinez slugs 2 home runs, Leads Kings to Win
|
The Baltimore Kings used the hitting of third baseman Reinier Martinez to subdue the New York Titans, 6-0. For the game, Martinez slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Adam Simms got the win, improving to 1-1. He worked 7.2 innings, giving up no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 5. The loss drops New York to 9-6.
Baltimore used the hitting of Eddy Marente to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Kings on top, 3-0. For the game, Marente had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Martinez after the game.
