The Cincinnati Twins picked up a win at Cincinnati Grounds, knocking off the Washington Senators, 4-2. Starting pitcher Macario Mendoza was a big reason why. Avery Slade nailed down the save. The loss puts Washington at 8-7.

The Twins got a big at-bat from designated hitter Matt Lawson. For the game, Lawson was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Cincinnati a 2-1 lead.

"Macario is tough to beat when he's hitting his spots," said Cincinnati manager Ryan Stoops.
