Senators Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
The Washington Senators topped the St. Louis Gaedels, 7-4, at The ESPN Zone. Washington left fielder James LaRue was a spark plug for the offense. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Keung King earned the save for Washington, his 5th. Washington is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 6th in 15 games.
LaRue had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch sinker from Alex Villalobos, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Senators a 7-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for LaRue.
"Enjoyed this one," LaRue told the Washington Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
