4-1 Triumph Takes Buffalo to 10-4
|
The Buffalo Rangers topped the New York Titans, 4-1, in Eastern Conference action at Polo Grounds II. The standout performance belonged to Buffalo pitcher and Central Point, Oregon, native B.J. Baker. Baker, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 2, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Picking up his 2nd save was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Matt Kloser.
Alexander Linares, who finished 4th in the EC in doubles with 45 in 2077, had a direct impact on the outcome. Linares contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Buffalo up, 4-1.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Linares.
Early on, the Rangers, at 10-4, have played an impressive brand of baseball.
